Lake Sebu Plans New Cable Car System

Lake Sebu, renowned for its Seven Falls Zipline, is planning a P185 million cable car transport system to attract more tourists.

Tourism officer Jennifer Tupas announced at the 2024 Treasures of SOX Travel and Trade Expo that the local government seeks investors for the 2.9-kilometer project.

Spanning from Sitio Lemsufo to Gono Lemobung, the system will feature 20 gondolas, each carrying eight passengers. The LGU will contribute P5 million for site development.

The project aims to elevate Lake Sebu’s status as the Summer Capital of South-Central Mindanao and a leading tourist destination in SOCCSKSARGEN. In 2023, the Seven Falls Zipline alone generated over P7.2 million in revenue. Lake Sebu, also a cultural hub, celebrates traditional T’boli practices, enhancing its eco-tourism appeal.
